    Modeling and Simulation Specialist 
    Fort Bragg, NC 

    Summary: 

    ATS is looking for a qualified Modeling and Simulation Specialist to support the Special Operations Mission Training Center Facility at Fort Bragg, NC.

    Job Duties: 

    • Develop and implement virtual and constructive simulation scenarios using VBS 4 and related LVCG systems, supporting Mission Command and Special Operations training events at the Special Operations Mission Training Center (SOMTC). 
    • Build and maintain three-dimensional terrain databases and entity objects, ensuring accurate replication of operational environments and alignment with Army Mission Command concepts and military operational requirements. 
    • Author and integrate modeling and simulation products, including video editing and scripted scenario events, to enhance realism and support exercise objectives across live, virtual, and constructive platforms. 
    • Collaborate within a Modeling and Simulation team to execute project tasks on schedule, applying object-oriented programming knowledge (e.g., Java, C++, .NET) and analytical problem-solving skills to refine simulation performance and scenario functionality. 

    Basic Qualifications:  

    • Minimum Education Requirement: Associate degree. Four years of related military experience may substitute for academic degree. 
    • Special Skills/Qualifications Required: Two years of experience developing scenarios with Virtual Battle Space (VBS) 4. Shall be familiar with building three-dimensional terrain databases and entity objects using a variety of software. 
    • Minimal Background/Experience Required: Shall have experience with constructive and virtual computer simulations, video editing, and authoring of modeling/simulation scenarios. Knowledge of Army Mission Command and/or Live, Virtual, Constructive and Gaming (LVCG) Systems. Knowledge of at least one object-oriented programming language such as Java, C++, or .NET. Knowledge of military operational concepts. 

    Preferred Qualifications:  

    Ability to work with self-initiative after receiving initial task guidance. Ability to follow project schedules and meet designated completion dates. Comfortable with working as a member of a Modeling/Simulations team able to accept guidance as well as provide sound suggestions after conducting analysis of the project.

    Working Environment: The working environment is a high-security, fast-paced Special Operations training facility that operates in direct support of mission-critical and time-sensitive training events. Personnel work closely with military leadership, government representatives, contractors, and visiting units, often in a dynamic environment with frequent schedule changes, after-hours requirements, and surge operations. The position requires strict adherence to Army physical security policies, discretion when handling sensitive information, constant attention to detail, and a strong customer-service mindset while operating within controlled access areas and under Secret-level security clearance requirements.
