Position:  GIS Analyst, Remote Posted:   09/15/2026 SUMMARY OF JOB DESCRIPTION: As a member of CAPE’s Technical Services Organization, the GIS Analyst is responsible for ensuring that all geospatial project activities meet contractual, legal and regulatory requirements resulting in accurate and legally defensible data and project execution. The GIS Analyst is responsible for supporting the planning and execution of all project and proposal activities related to GIS, remote sensing, and/or data management. The ideal candidate will have experience in the environmental/remediation sector and demonstrated ability to drive efficient high-volume production of maps, charts, and figures. This position will work closely with various teams to support projects, proposals, and business development opportunities to achieve profit goals and excellent client satisfaction in alignment with the Mission, Vision and Values of CAPE. Responsibilities: Use and update GIS libraries, Geodatabases, and project Map Packages Support GIS projects, schedules and development of standards and libraries Ensure each deliverable sent to an outside client has been produced and reviewed in accordance with established SOPs Ensure timely and appropriate generation, collection, dissemination, storage, and ultimate disposition of project information SALARY: $65,000 - $80,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications. TRAVEL: Up to 1-2 times per year for technical field support. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: B.A, B.S, or M.S in Geology, Geography, Environmental Science, GIS, or related field. Two years of experience using ArcGIS or other geospatial software to generate unique maps and visualize datasets for technical reports. Two years of experience in an environmental, engineering, or science field analyzing and visualizing complex project datasets. Demonstrated skill with ArcGIS Pro software. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS B.S or M.S in Geology, Geography, Environmental Science, GIS, or related field. Minimum of 2-5 years in a similar role, preference for candidates with experience in the environmental industry serving DoD clients. Proficiency in MS Access and SQL relational database management/administration. Proficiency in programming in SQL, VBA, and/or Python. WHY CAPE?
