    SUMMARY OF JOB DESCRIPTION:

    CAPE Environmental Management Inc (CAPE) is seeking an engineer, geologist or environmental scientist with 2-10 years of experience to support our federal remediation projects. This position will provide support in areas of technical expertise including environmental evaluations and assessments, plan writing, report writing, environmental sampling, and safety and quality control oversight of environmental remediation projects involving cleanup of contaminated soil, groundwater, and sediment, including projects regulated under RCRA, CERCLA, and by various state and federal agencies. Projects will primarily be conducted for our Department of Defense clients, including the Navy, Air Force, and US Army Corps of Engineers.


    SALARY: $50,000-$75,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.

     

    TRAVEL: This position will initially support of projects within driving distance of Sacramento. A significant amount of fieldwork will be expected for the first two years. When not in the field, the successful candidate will work from home. Opportunities for travel to other locations within the continental US and Hawaii are also available.

     

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 

    • BS degree in Environmental Science or similar.
    • Minimum 2 years’ experience in the environmental investigation/remediation industry, including sampling and report writing.
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
    • Proficient computer skills.
    • Highly organized and self-motivated.
    • Able to handle multiple assignments on timely basis to meet deadlines.
    • Able to work independently with exceptional attention to detail.

     

    MINIMUM PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The candidate must be able to perform and oversee construction/remediation site activities, sampling, construction/remediation support services, and operations and maintenance. Must be able to use safety and respiratory protection equipment. Candidates must successfully pass standard CAPE pre-employment physical, drug, and background screens. COVID-19 vaccination required.
