    Cape Environmental Management Inc (CAPE) is seeking a Construction Manager to support our nationwide federal construction and remediation projects. The Construction Manager is the company’s representative assigned the responsibility and authority for daily coordination and direction of the project so that it is executed safely, within budget, on schedule, to the company’s quality standards and to the customer’s satisfaction. The position will work on project sites planning, coordinating, and manage every aspect of industrial groundwater treatment plant building projects from start to finish. The position requires a strong knowledge of all building trades and experience ensuring subcontractors meet their Quality, Safety, and Schedule contractual requirements. The person in this position will work closely with the quality control engineers and safety officers as well as other project team members to provide timely project deliverables. The position requires strong verbal communication and Microsoft skills in Word, Excel and Project. Project responsibilities include preparing three week look ahead schedules for building trades and attending weekly project status meetings. This role will assist in the preparation of monthly status reports, estimates to complete and approval of vendor invoices as well as assisting estimators by preparing scopes of work and contacting vendors. The ideal candidate will be passionate about construction management and able to manage subcontractors effectively. Preference will be given to applicants who can reference work demonstrating the skills and qualifications below. This position leads directly to a Sr Construction Manager position and strong performers are expected to progress within 5 years.

    SALARY:

    $110,000-$140,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.

    TRAVEL:

    This is a remote position and travel will be needed.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    • 5-10 years of managing large, federal, industrial type building construction projects.
    • Proficiency in managing multiple vendors and subcontractors to meet building schedules.
    • Familiarity with requirement of drawings and specifications and with terms and conditions of Project Contracts, Subcontracts and Purchase Orders
    • Proficiency using Microsoft Word, Excel and Project.
    • Strong management skills and exhibits strong leadership qualities
    • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
    • Able to understand and carefully follow both written and oral guidance/instructions
    • Resourceful and self-motivated
    • Abe to handle multiple assignments on timely basis to meet deadlines.
    • Able to work independently with exceptional attention to detail.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Brick and Mortar experience.
    • Experience working with building trades, sourcing vendors, preparing scopes of work and working with estimators.
    • Understand construction management principles.
    • Ability to perform quantity take-offs.
