Position:  Environmental Assistant Project Manager, Field Locations Nation-wide Posted:   09/18/2023 SUMMARY OF JOB DESCRIPTION: CAPE Environmental Management Inc (CAPE) is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support our nationwide federal remediation projects. The position will support Project Managers in the effective management of resources and coordination with other support groups such as Technical Service Organization, Quality Control, safety, construction and estimating. The person in this position will work closely with engineers and geologists and other project team members to provide timely project management deliverables. The position requires strong communication and Microsoft skills in Word, Excel, and Project. Project responsibilities may include on-the-job training at jobsites. This role will assist in the preparation of monthly status reports, estimates to complete and approval of vendor invoices as well as assisting estimators by preparing scopes of work and contacting vendors. The ideal candidate will be passionate about project management, able to learn from books, classroom and on-the-job training. Preference will be given to applicants who can reference work demonstrating the skills and qualifications below. This position leads directly to a Project Manager position and strong performers are expected to progress within 2 years. SALARY: $85,000-$94,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications. TRAVEL: This is a remote position and travel will be needed. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's Degree in Geology, Construction Management, Earth Science or Engineering required. 2-5 years of fieldwork experience in environmental remediation. Proficiency in using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project. Understanding of regulatory drivers for remediation. Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills Able to understand and carefully follow both written and oral guidance/instructions. Resourceful and self-motivated Abe to handle multiple assignments on a timely basis to meet deadlines. Able to work independently with exceptional attention to detail. Strong ability to quickly learn Project Management skills, tools and software. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Actively working toward a professional certification such as PG or PE. Experience sourcing vendors, preparing scopes of work and working with estimators. Experience in task management on large project. Understand management principles and maintain file/version control Experience reading specifications and drawings. Ability to perform quantity take-offs. WHY CAPE?
