    The Ideal Candidate will possess the following Traits, Skills and/or Experience:

    Seeking individual who is detail oriented; thorough in approach; well organized; deadline focused, customer service oriented; knowledgeable and experienced in the development and reviewing of request for proposal (RFP) packages (including statements of work, specifications, plans, etc.) to develop accurate cost estimates for CAPE in the federal environmental remediation markets. Ideal candidate will possess significant field experience working preparing competitive and innovative estimates in the federal market related to civil infrastructure and environmental remediation, where work is largely self-performed.  Anticipate a 50 / 50 split between working from home and in the office.

     

    Brief Description of Responsibilities:

    This position will be responsible for the development of detailed cost estimates for government environmental remediation, and civil infrastructure projects. These cost estimates will primarily be associated with environmental remediation projects which include but are not limited to civil construction, environmental systems and other infrastructure. Required functions of this position include thorough review of RFP and supporting documents; attendance at pre-bid meetings and/or site visits; participation in internal strategy meetings to develop competitive technical and construction approaches; development of a detailed basis of estimate; completion of detailed quantity take-offs; solicitation of quotes for material, equipment, and subcontractors; calculation of production rates and associated sizing of needed labor, equipment, and material needs; leading bid review meetings; and preparation of cost estimating documentation.

     

    Minimum Work Experience Requirements:

    • Five (5) years of field experience on environmental remediation or civil construction projects serving in the role of Field Engineer or Site Supervisor.
    • Five (5) years of progressive estimating experience supporting environmental remediation, infrastructure and civil construction; or any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
    • Must be extremely proficient in the use of MS Excel
    • Experience in the use of HCSS Heavy Bid is highly desired. Experience with construction take-off programs such as Plan Swift is also desirable.
    • Must be experienced in the development of project schedules using Primavera or MS Project.
    • Must be able to review and evaluate drawings, specifications, and other deliverables to ascertain the necessary take-offs.
    • Must have broad knowledge of estimating resources that provide information on construction equipment capabilities, labor production rates, and material specifications and prices.
    • Must be able to work in a team-oriented environment, meet regular deadlines, continually adjust to changing deadlines, and remain client focused. Experience with preparing estimates for federal government is highly desirable.   

     

    Minimum Education & Training Requirements (please include required registrations, certifications, if any):

    • High school diploma or General Education Diploma with 10 years of field experience required or B.S. in Construction Management or Civil Engineering with 5 years of field experience.
    • Excellent computer skills in use of MS Word, MS Excel, Primavera, and MS Project. 

     

    Salary:

    $100K/year - $130K/year commensurate with experience

     

    Minimum Physical Requirements:

     

    • Must have the physical ability to travel up to 25 % of the time (pre-bid meetings, site visits/walks, etc.). 
    • Candidates must successfully pass standard CAPE pre-employment medical, drug and background screens, and have the ability to use safety equipment as required.
