Position Overview Home Innovation is a full-service market research, consulting, product testing, and accredited third-party certification agency dedicated to issues related to the building industry. Our mission is to improve the quality, durability, affordability, and environmental performance of homes, multifamily and mixed-use buildings, and home-building products. Home Innovation is seeking an NGBS Green Building Associate. This role is focused on supporting the NGBS Green certification program and helping drive new green products and services to the residential building industry. The Green Building Associate will report to the V.P. Sustainability and have a wide range of responsibilities dependent on the candidate’s skills and prior experience. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a field of study related to one or more of the following specialties: Construction Management Planning or Policy (urban/transportation/environmental planning, urban design) Environmental Science/Studies (ecology, environmental management) Professional credentials (such as Net Zero Energy, Passive House, HERS Rater, ENERGY STAR for Homes, LEED for Homes, NGBS Green Verifier/Field Rep, BPI) are helpful, but not required Ability to communicate technical issues effectively with clients Excellent communication skills, analytical thinking, project management, and problem-solving skills Detail-oriented, able to prioritize, and manage multiple work assignments. Ability to work well both independently and on Teams. Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite Responsibilities Provide technical assistance to clients related to building code and NGBS compliance. Develop technical and programmatic certification resources for clients. Review construction documents to evaluate building compliance with the NGBS. Perform quality audits of third-party green building professionals. Work to implement NGBS updates, program policies, and green scoring tool revisions Assist customers seeking NGBS Green certification Develop verifier training and verification guidance documents.
