    The Senior Materials & AI Software Engineer uses scientific and engineering principles to develop new materials, processes, technologies and new products in line with the growth strategy of the company.     THE VALUE YOU BRING:

    • Interface with customers, research technical literature, plan and conduct experiments, and lead the activities of junior-level scientists/engineers.
    • Perform theoretical and experimental research and development in materials science, nanomaterial fabrication & testing, and electro-chemistry. 
    • Assist in managing various development/prototyping programs. This involves customer interface, planning and scheduling, identifying and purchasing of raw materials.
    • Respond to outside opportunities that are in line with the company’s strategy.
    • Provide technical leadership in directing and coaching the technical activities and employees with less experience or as assigned.
    • Develop and implement innovative algorithms to solve novel problems
    • Use standard tools for configuration management, issue tracking, etc.  Document software APIs and user interfaces
    • Produce clean, elegant, maintainable, and extensible code. Responsible for timely delivery of assigned software deliverables
    • Troubleshoot, test, and analyze problems and determine solutions, including testing of new equipment and operational guidelines of data gathering systems.
    • Collaborate with other staff to design, develop, implement and maintain software products for high-throughput data processing for infrared cameras or other applications.
    • Prepare reports on activities of teams, test performance and recommend strategies to improve results.

    THE EXPERTISE WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

    • Inquisitive, with a natural curiosity and hunger for learning.
    • Team player, collaborative, self-motivated, results-oriented, fast learner who can grasp the essence and can change course quickly where indicated.
    • BS degree and extensive experience in mathematics, computer science, theoretical to applied physics, science, engineering (electrical, mechanical), optics, computational, solid state, materials, quantum, or related field required; MS or PhD preferred.
    • Superb technical competency (knowledge, experience, skills) in computational analyses and scientific discovery. Proven track record in material science, physics, computer systems engineering, systems engineering and analysis or engineering (electrical, mechanical, aerospace, etc.), broad understanding and experience in diverse engineering fields preferred.
    • Supervisory experience leading collaborative teams preferred.
    • Excellent written communication and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly and competently convey technical system design and trade information to a wide range of audiences, required.
